Calisthenics: Your Way to a Healthy Body

In the last article you learned how to properly feed your body healthy. Now I am going to give you some tips on physical activity that will also keep your body healthy. One of the first things you should do before you start any new form of exercise is evaluate your current rate of activity and consult your primary physician.

If you are someone who has not been active in a long time or just not as consistent as you would like to be, do not be hard on yourself - you can get back into the swing of things! There is one thing that you do everyday that can be just the thing to motivate you and that is walking. You can get in some quality exercise by walking at a brisk pace for about 30 to 35 minutes 3 to 4x a week. Did you know that you would cover about 2.2 miles in that short amount of time? Not to mention that the more you pump your arms, the more you sweat and the more calories you burn. You also get the wonderful benefit of some sexy looking legs in about 2 to 3 months time while dropping inches all over your body.

The best way to see great results and get really strong in the process is to learn how to move your own body weight. These exercises are called calisthenics; they force you to engage a lot of your muscles at the same time. Walking is one example. Another awesome one is push-ups. In doing these, you are working your chest, triceps, shoulders, abs and buttocks all in one exercise. For women, they keep our breasts lifted by strengthening the muscles behind and underneath the breast. They also sculpt the arms and shoulder muscles while tightening the abs and buttocks. Some other great exercises to move your own body weight are swimming, aerobics, Pilates, yoga, jumping rope, squats, crunches, dancing and jogging. Find what you like and get your body in motion.

These suggestions will get you started in the right direction, but you have to make a quality decision that this is not just for the summer or an upcoming vacation. It is a lifestyle change. There are three things that will make you successful on your journey to total health in your body. They are: Commitment, Discipline and Patience.

Commit to getting your body in shape

Discipline yourself to stick to your exercise routine

Be patient with the transformation of your body

I expect e-mails of your great progress. Old things have passed away and today you are a new person!
